My Project
My students to push themselves to learn despite the varying struggles that they may face daily. They arrive to class excited and ready to collaborate and move around the room with their classmates. Flexible seating would allow my young scholars to choose a setting that best fits their needs. When students are involved in this choice they are responsible for their work and work to succeed.
Flexible seating in the elementary classroom enhances student engagement and collaboration by allowing children to choose their preferred learning environments, leading to increased comfort and productivity.
It has been shown to improve student grades; promote collaboration and community, engagement, and interest in learning. If students are happy and comfortable, they are more willing to learn.
This project is to help students receive different flexible seating options. Bean bags, floor seats, and clipboards to assist students in completing their work in these different locations where they can complete their best work.
I saw what a smaller model of flexible seating did for my students last year and could only imagine what it would do for my next set of learners; I truly believe that flexible seating will provide my students with the access they need to thrive as 21st century learners.
