Flexible classrooms give students a choice in what kind of learning space works best for them, and helps them to work collaboratively, communicate, and engage in critical thinking all things that are apart of 21st century learning. The organizational cart gives students a place to store their belongings as they work freely around the room in a place that works best for them. The bean bags and storage bench with seat will allow students to work collaboratively around the room. Flexible seating has been shown to improve student grades; students seem happier and more engaged, and students are participating more and having more invigorating conversations. Through flexible seating the classroom becomes “ours” instead of “mine,” and will give my students a sense of ownership and enabled them to become invested in their own education.
