My Students

My 4th grade classroom is full of diverse learners who are eager to learn. Our school is in a high poverty area of New York. My classroom consists of 20-23 students who learn in many different ways. I have general education students, special needs, and English Language Learners in my classroom.

I try my best to provide all the resources I can to ensure that all our students are successful.

My students work together to help each other and I encourage them to be a family. They are curious, creative, energetic, and ready to learn new topics.

My Project

Flexible student seating is a goal of mine this school year. I have requested 4 flex-space comfy floor seats for our classroom. During the day my students enjoy moving around and doing their work in different spaces. They often work in groups or partnerships and they focus well when they are comfortable.

These cozy chairs will provide my students with a comfortable space to do their work.

Flexible seating is a key component to ever classroom. Currently, my students sit in regular four legged chairs during most of their independent time because the floor is their only other option. The flexible seating will keep them comfortable and engaged.
