My students love the positive reinforcement that stamps on their work provides. Every day one of my students gets to go to the new storage unit and choose a stamp and a color we'll use throughout the day. These stamps are used to show students that they've completed an assignment, that they fixed mistakes, or that they earned at least an 80% on a math test! \r\n\r\nWe are still getting through all the new stamps and each time they see a new one they smile! Before these books were available to my students they were constantly looking for things to read but they often left my classroom library empty handed. Thanks for your generous donations there is always a book in the hands of even my most reluctant readers!\r\n\r\nThese texts will reinforce the fiction reading skills that are being taught in our ELA lessons. Students are able to track changes in characters over time not only in standalone books, but in entire series as a whole! My students are given 15 minutes a day of independent reading time and now I can be confident that every students will always have something to read! \r\n\r\nThis project made the biggest impact on my most reluctant readers. We still have some rewards left to take us into the new year! My students were so excited when the new chairs arrived. They created a schedule to take turns on the new chairs. We now have enough for almost half the class to use. My students love using these during independent reading, small group math, and group work. \r\n I have 23 students this year and it is uncomfortable for them to sit at their desk all day. These supplies are essential in our classroom. I have been using the Clorox wipes to clean all the surfaces in our room. The tissues and soap have also been used to keep the germs away. With allergy season upon us these supplies are very helpful.\r\nThe pencil sharpener, highlighters, markers, and scissors have also been a great help. We use pencils all day and being without a sharpener was an issue. We will take good care of the new one. My students have been using the highlighters to choose important information when reading about the American Revolution. When they highlight information, it often helps them to remember the facts.
