Flexible Seating to Take Our Reading to the Next Level

My students need flexible seating to help encourage them to read. We have really make improvements in our ability to have good reading stamina. This furniture will extend our independent reading even longer.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a group of third grade students that love to learn. They are a diverse group that come from a variety of backgrounds. They love trying new things and will go out of their way to help each other and students from other classes.

All of my students have shown tremendous growth in Language Arts and Math, but we haven't let our growth effect our passion for learning.

I can't wait to see how far they will go this year.

My Project

I have seen that many students in our community have lost the love of reading. They have turned their focus to video games and apps on their tablets. I want to help my students gain the love of reading I had when I was in elementary school.

My students have a larger desire to read if they are able to sit in an unconventional space.

They really look forward to sitting on the bean bags in the library. The bean bags, pillows, and floor seats in my project will give multiple students a day the chance to read in a place other than their desks.
