My Students

My 4th grade students are amazing! However, we have some very unique needs in our classroom this year. As a result of COVID-19 and other factors, many of the students in my class have mild to severe anxiety. Our classroom has a definite and apparent need for individual accommodations.

My Project

These materials will make a difference for our classroom. Students in our class experience a lot of fear and anxiety. Sitting in a hard classroom chair can be difficult and uncomfortable. A chair that allows for some movement and some comfort is shown by research to aid focus and decrease anxiety. Increased focus and decreased anxiety allow more cognitive capacity for learning and creativity. The seating funded in this project will aid both teacher and students of our classroom to be more comfortable and therefore experience increased efficiency in learning.
