Flexible Seating That Feels Like Home!

Help me give my students fidget bands, reclining seats, stools, wobble cushions and other flexible and inviting seating! My goal is to have a classroom that feels like a home to my students.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come to school eager and ready to learn. They have the biggest hearts. They strive for greatness and want to always do their best. They stand up for themselves and take pride in their classroom, friendships and academic work. My students come from an extremely low-income area of Detroit.

My students are some of the strongest children I have ever encountered.

A majority of them have overcome things in their lives that no child should have to endure. My students learn and grow TOGETHER. They learn from mistakes and are very supportive of each other and myself. In my classroom, we are FAMILY!

My Project

These materials will help my students tremendously while they are learning. Having these flexible seating options for students, allows them to move around and learn in a comfortable environment. Students need to move and although we do brain breaks and recess throughout the day, these different seating choices, allow them to move which is so helpful when students are trying to learn!

I want my students to feel like our classroom is a HOME!

Last year I had a couple options for students, but not as many as I wanted. It made SUCH a difference when students had a comfortable seating to learn in. They were more focused and took pride in their space and their work!
