My Students

My classroom is a Special Education Resource classroom. Our classroom’s statement of purpose is: “Our classroom is a safe place. We treat each other how we want to be treated. We do our best every day to find joy in learning.” Eight groups of students come in and out of my classroom every day.

Each group is filled with students who are incredible individuals.

They all have strengths and are aware of the areas they need to improve upon. They work hard every day to build upon their strengths so that they can strive for their goals.

My Project

Many of my students have a difficult time sitting still. These materials will help them be able to pick a spot that feels comfortable and allow for movement. This way, they can focus their minds on the task at hand.

They can bounce and sway away while they learn.

Other students need to filter out stimulus such as extra noise, the noise canceling headphones will help them tremendously.

Some students are working on learning social skills to help them be successful members of society. The Julia Cook books are great resources.
