Each morning, 24 students greet me at the door with smiling faces and excitement for whats in store for the day ahead. My students are creative, lively, and eager to learn!
Each of my students come from various backgrounds and have different learning styles and needs.
They are very diverse, racially, economically, socially, and academically. My students strive to give great effort, despite some of their challenging circumstances they may face outside of school. My school is a Title 1 elementary school where the majority of the students qualify for a free or reduced lunch.
I want to allow them to learn in a way that they learn best. When each student enters my classroom, they become my babies. I want to do everything I can to help them succeed and be happy!
I would LOVE for my students to be able to have a choice of what seat to sit in when they come into my classroom. The Flex-Space Round Floor table, Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seats, and the nuLOOM rug would help to create more movable space with 24 students, but also give the students an advantage for more collaborative learning.
I want my students to have a learning environment that makes them feel comfortable, but also fits their learning styles at the same time.
This project is designed to give my students options while learning in our literacy groups each day. My students need a new rug area to provide them with a comfortable place for our morning routines we have each day such as whole group time, morning meetings, and even read alouds.
With being a first year teacher, I am trying to create a learning environment that will allow my students to have a choice to express their individual learning styles. This grant would help me with that, as well as many other things, such as increase student work productivity and engagement in collaboration whole group discussions.
