Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students strive to succeed. I teach at a Title 1 campus that advocates for the use of flexible seating in the classroom on a daily basis. My students love to sit all over the classroom for their learning!
My students are a diverse bunch with interesting and complex personalities!
They love to be challenged and work hard every day. Each student has their own unique needs and abilities. Having flexible seating in our classroom would allow students to learn in a wide variety of ways. My school is nestled in a tightly knit community. Most of the teachers, including myself, live closely in the surrounding area.
My Project
These flexible seating options will allow my students to work around the classroom, while also learning the lesson for the day. Some students learn better when they are not required to work at a traditional desk and I like to accommodate them as much as I can.
The students love doing group work or partner group when they have space to stretch out!
The lap desks are also necessary so they can work in their flexible seating, just like they would be able to on a hard surface. Please help us obtain flexible seating and desks to make this dream a reality!
