I am lucky enough to teach an energetic and creative group of second graders in Virginia. My students are always willing to try new things. They also enjoy any opportunity get up and get moving around the classroom!
My class is also a very diverse group of students.
Each student comes from a different background, has different interests, and most importantly, a different learning style. In our learning environment and lessons, I attempt to create opportunities that support the diverse group of students in my classroom.
I am blessed to have the opportunity to teach this group of students and help them reach their highest potential.
My Project
The flexible seating options in my project will give my students different seating options throughout our school day. A majority of my students struggle with sitting still and staying on task in the tradition desks and chairs provided.
The exercise balls, kick bands, and lap seats will provide my students with flexible seating options that keep their bodies moving, but also allow them to not lose focus.
I also hope that the new flexible seating options will help me meet the individualized learning needs of all of my students while also creating a welcoming and exciting learning environment for my students both present and future.
