Flexible Seating Options Leads to Success and Self-Esteem!
My students need a rug to have a comfortable place to share and do group activities. Wobble stools and chair bands will provide options for students who struggle with controlling their body and focusing.
In an elementary counseling room, creating a nurturing, safe environment where students have specific spaces to meet and express themselves is essential. The students I work with are diverse, energetic, and come to school with a variety of needs.
I want my students to have a place where they are able to feel comfortable in order to share their worries, stress, and anxiety resulting from their daily lives.
I strongly believe that flexible seating allows students to take charge of their well-being and helps make the choices that work best for them so they can be successful!
My Project
I want my students to feel comfortable in the counseling room so they are able to express the concerns and feelings that result from their every day life stressors. By providing a variety of seating options to my students such a bright colored rug, wobble stools, and chair bands will help increases their feelings of success and self-worth.
The students will have the power to choose what type of seating will allow them to be most successful in expressing their feelings, so they can be a learner at school.
For many students, the option of flexible seating will allow them a change in their environment that will enhance their learning. Flexible seating would be an amazing addition for the counseling room!
