My Students

My students come into the classroom everyday with an eagerness to learn! Sitting at a desk all day is tough on 6 and 7 year old children. They should be making themselves comfortable in a seating option that best fits their learning style. My students love to move around the room constantly. They are never in one spot long!

My first grade classroom has been slowly undergoing a transformation over the last couple of years.

My students are so excited about everything that they achieve and love to learn new skills every day. Their eyes seem to light up when they accomplish the task that was set before them.

My Project

My first grade students will be able to utilize the new flexible seating options during their Daily 5, reading, and many other times during the school day. This will allow them to be able to pick an area where they are comfortable to learn.

All children are unique in their learning styles.

The classroom will be more inviting for my first graders. If the students are more comfortable and take ownership of their classroom, they are more apt to be successful academically. Young children have an extremely difficult time sitting still, these flexible seats will allow them to move and stay on task.
