Our team is a lively, happy, creative bunch of third graders, each with his or her own story, talents and needs. We are working together to make our classroom a welcoming place to learn and grow. I have many diverse learners and I try to meet each of their learning styles. I have an ESL inclusion classroom, with 3 Non-English students that have been here less than 4 months, as well as many students learning English as a second language that have been here around or less than a year. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are creative, clever and very spontaneous.
I want the classroom to remain a comfortable, positive environment to encourage perseverance! My students LOVE hands-on learning, group interaction and thinking outside the box! This resource will add to our learning experience and help us to better engage in our task.
My Project
My students need flexible seating stools to help maintain focus. Flexible seating provides the students an opportunity to utilize their energy in a positive way while maintaining focus. They are encouraged to do their work and stay more engaged and on task when offered a choice in their seating. The portable stools will be used during center time, guided reading time, computers, guided math, and writing time.
I know these new seats will be so exciting and helpful for them!
Students will rotate sitting in them throughout the day so all 16 of my students can benefit from the use of them. Thank you!
