Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing!! I teach in a 4th & 5th grade Gifted classroom. It is the first time it has been done at my school. I even have sisters together in my class!
When I first was asked to teach this class I was extremely excited.
I have the opportunity to think and teach outside the box. My students work very hard and are driven to do well and learn more each and everyday.
My students come from all different backgrounds, but all want to learn and strive for their goals!
My Project
Picture a classroom with bright colors, engaged students, and differentiated learning! I strive everyday to accomplish these goals for my students. The only thing missing is...flexible seating.
I have read many studies about the need for flexible seating and the benefits.
As a teacher I know that I need to differentiate my teaching, so why are we not differentiating our seating within the classroom. Some students learn best at a desk on a stool, some sitting on the floor, some bouncing on an exercise ball. I want to match my classroom environment to the teaching being done in the classroom. Please help me to accomplish my goals for my students!
