My classroom made up of 19 tiny Kindergartners. Each day they arrive with individual needs that need to be met. Some students arrive hungry, some tired, some with learning disabilities and many dealing with trauma. As their teacher, I strive to meet as many of their needs as possible so that they are ready to "grow their brains" and learn to love school. Our classroom community works hard each day to do the best we can with what we have been given.
My Project
This year I have been transitioning our classroom into a flexible seating classroom. This allows all students to learn in their own individual way. It gives each and every student the ability to move around and wiggle while learning during whole group and individual instruction.
By funding this project you are giving my class fun, engaging, creative seating options that will allow children to be engaged and find a love for learning at a very emergent age.
We will be adding a new class rug that gives us the opportunity to have class meetings, carpet time, whole group instruction and a clean place to learn as a group. Other seating options such as "seat spots" and "tractor stools" will give students a variety of options to help find a place where they can learn to their fullest potential. This coming year, our school will be getting class sets of I-pads for students to use and we are in dire need of charging stations as well as storage for the I-pads. These stations will keep our I-pads safe, charged, ready to use! Thank you for considering our project! We appreciate you!
