Flexible Seating in Kindergarten!

Help me give my students flexible seating options to help them work independently in different places in the room. The wobble stools, bean bag chairs, storage bench, and lap desks will give my students different places to work!

My Students

I am blessed to be working in a small school that has a great family feel! Many of my students come from rural locations. Our school is a Title I funded meaning many students come from lower-income homes.

Having 12 students in my class makes it seem like a small family.

My children work so hard every day but some of my students would benefit from different seating options.

I am a first-year teacher and want to give my students the best opportunities to learn and grow in such an important year of school!

My Project

Flexible seating is a growing trend in classrooms today. Research shows students cannot focus if they are uncomfortable in their desks.

Kindergarten students should not be expected to sit at a desk for many hours in a day.

Kindergarten is a crucial year where students make decisions about how they feel in school. I want my students to have the best learning experiences possible to foster a LOVE of learning! The beanbag chairs, wobble stools, and lap desks will give the many options for places to sit.

These flexible seating options will give my students more opportunities to move around the room and find the best way for them to work!
