Flexible Seating in 4th Grade!

My Students

I teach 4th grade to classroom of 25 diverse kiddos with different learning needs, academic goals, and individual dreams. At 9 years old it can be difficult to sit and focus for periods of time at a desk. I want to add more seating options to my classroom so that students have the ability to work comfortably from many different areas of my room. Although I incorporate brain breaks and opportunities for movement, these additional seating options can help increase student's focus and help them learn more.

My Project

If my project were to be funded, I would add these wiggle stools to my collection of flexible seating options - a standing desk, pillows, and bean bags. Since I am a newer teacher, it takes time to collect resources that fit the needs of such a variety of student. Wiggle stools are unique because it gives the students the opportunity to move while still being part of the dialogue at their table.

These wiggle stools are a great resource for kids who have trouble sitting still while also adding an option for all students for getting out their wiggles and focus.

Adding these flexible seating options makes for a classroom that is inviting to all types of learners and students.
