Help me give my students large pillows for our floor seating at desks, comfy floor seats for other seating options and tall stools for a tall table work space.
My 2nd graders come to school excited and ready to learn every day. I have began implementing flexible seating options for my students! We are in need of more seating options so we can continue to say goodbye to traditional ways of sitting and learning, and hello to an environment where students can learn the way that best fits them!!
I want to give all students an environment where they learn best and are actively engaged!
I want to create a classroom where students are successful and create a place where I can help them take ownership of their own learning!
My Project
My students love finding their just right spot for learning and work time. They need comfortable options for just right seating in our classroom. To fully benefit from this, my students need flexible seating options in our classroom.
Flexible options such as large floor pillows, portable comfy floor chairs and tall stools allow for students to find that just right spot for learning!
As adults, we don't like sitting in a chair all day; 2nd graders are no different! Large pillows and portable comfy chairs allow for student movement around the classroom to work with clipboards and tall comfy stools allow work at tall tables . Studies show allowing students to choose their work space often encourages them to take more ownership in their learning.
Adding these options will give my students the flexibility to choose a comfortable spot to sit and learn throughout our day.
I am excited to be able to incorporate flexible seating for my 24 amazing 2nd graders!
