Flexible Seating for the Creative Minds

Help me give my students the flexibility in their seating in our classroom, as well as a floor cushion as a tool to relax and renew during our breaks in our school day.

My Students

I teach 26, 7-8 year olds. I have discovered over the last couple of years that they are more capable of achieving amazing things than ever before. They have been incredibly resilient and willing to learn new things like never before.

My students are from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds, and have many different emotional/physical/intellectual needs.

Their education has been greatly impacted by COVID, their Kindergarten year was cut short and their 1st grade year had shortened days. They have navigated through these times the best they can and are truly my heroes.

My Project

The materials in my project will be used as a calming, and rejuvenating tool in my classroom. I will be using the flexible seating for yoga, group discussions and diversity in learning situations for math and reading.

The flexible seating has been studied and found to increase oxygen to the brain, strengthen a child's core, and keep them more focused during the lesson.

I want to use this seating to help specifically my students that need a change in their routine in order to stay focused and able to learn in a positive way.
