Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are eager to learn and love collaborating with each other to solve math problems through Reciprocal teaching. They also love station teaching where they move to each station with their group to solve reading comprehension questions, Balance Literacy, spelling and a listening center. Th classroom environment is nurturing and allows the students to move around to work with their peers. Our classroom is in desperate need for a makeover. We need flexible seating to make it comfy and cozy for each student.
My Project
With flexible seating my students will have the option to chose the seating which will work best for them. In our classroom we purchased cushions which helped the students feel comfortable and had a positive impact on their learning. With wobble chairs students who are energetic and have a difficult time remaining seated this will allow them to move in the chairs while remaining seated. The beanbag chairs will be cozy and comfy during independent reading. Also, assist students with a place to go to if they are upset to calm down. Flexible seating will assist the students with comfort and options which they will learn what seating is best for them.
