Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse group. They are 3-5 years old and are made up of differing abilities, from typically developing kiddos to students with varying degrees of developmental delays.

All of my students LOVE learning in our classroom!

It fills my heart to hear students welcoming peers and cheering each other on. Relationship-building and LOVE create a classroom family.

My Project

When you walk into my classroom, you will see students that range from just turned 3 year olds to 5 year olds getting ready for Kindergarten. You will see a classroom of inclusion that looks like any early learning room-except some of my learners need specialized seating to be safe. They need input on their legs to know where there body is in space (proprioceptive skills) and a no tip design so when they are dysregulated they won't tip their chair. They also shouldn't be singled out to be accommodated and safe. That means the new inclusive design Rifton has created, supports my learners physically and emotionally. Our smallest learners are working to learn and grow-just like their peers. I hope you will help me put them in chairs that help them do that, while maintaining a positive self image. Well being and inclusion starts with our physical environment!
