Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My goal is to improve student engagement during reading and independent time by introducing new, flexible seating options in our classroom.

Students often struggle to stay focused and comfortable during reading and independent activities, leading to decreased engagement and productivity.

Currently, our classroom is equipped with traditional desks and chairs. While these provide a standard seating arrangement, they are not conducive to promoting a dynamic and interactive learning environment.

To address this issue, I hope the introduction of new seating options that offer flexibility and comfort. I envision incorporating reading benches and lap desks into our classroom setup. These seating options will provide students with the freedom to choose a comfortable position that suits their individual learning preferences. Additionally, these seating arrangements will promote collaboration and creativity among students, enhancing their overall learning experience.

By investing in new, flexible seating options for our classroom, we have the opportunity to enhance student learning outcomes and create a more engaging and dynamic environment for all.
