Flexible Seating for My Students

Help me give my students flexible seating so they are able to continue focused learning while facing obstacles that are beyond their control. These tools will allow them to stay focused and keep them from distractions.

My Students

My kindergartners come in everyday so eager to learn and try new things. Development is so important at this age and I love providing them with a variety of ways to excel. My students are so intelligent and full of potential, some face different milestones like trauma and poverty that prevent some to live up to their full potential.

Our school is in the main metropolitan area and is considered Title 1, with 100% of them qualifying for our free and reduced lunch program.

My students have shown the ability to overcome these challenges as they show so much maturity and growth throughout the year. School is considered a safe place for my students and I want to give them the ability to create a bright successful future for themselves.

My Project

Flexible seating gives students the opportunity to learn and grow while facing their own obstacles. While some people are able to work independently without distraction, some students have a very difficult time completing work in a timely manner or at all due to minor distractions within the classroom.

For example, when working at tables with other classmates, students will be able to transfer their distracting energy to flexible seating so they are able to move while they continue working.

This seating is not mainly directed towards completing work, but to help students focus so they can learn within the classroom.
