Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I work with energetic and curious 7th grade students from low-income households. Flexible seating keeps them engaged and makes them excited for different lessons. The opportunity to move around the classroom makes students feel less constrained, and gives special education students places to go that help them focus.

I want to provide my students with flexible seating options that make them feel at home in my classroom!

Whether we are reading or writing, students love the choice to complete their activities in an environment that suits them.

My Project

Standing desks provide students a place to properly channel their energy so they can focus on their work. These requested desks will give my students of all abilities more options for completing their assignments. My students love the option to move around the classroom and work independently or collaboratively! Sitting in a desk just does not work for every student in my classroom.

7th graders can be very energetic, especially when they have different needs, and standing desks help them focus more closely on their work.

Classrooms need to provide students with choices so they can learn to take more responsibility for their own learning. I want to provide my students with more flexible seating options so they can feel comfortable while completing their work.
