Help me give my students some flexible seating solutions for our Lakeview music classroom. These wobble cushions will enhance the learning of a variety of students who struggle to sit on the floor with the group.
Singing, dancing, playing instruments and creating music during their once weekly music class experiences are the jobs of my wonderful music students. Fifth grade students take advantage of participating in a fifth grade choir experience as well as the band and orchestra program on their own time in addition to their weekly general music classes.
My fantastic music students are active, creative, musicians with a passion to succeed in their music class.
These dedicated students perform for their school, parents and community at an annual Holiday Concert and a spring opera performance with Opera for the Young. In addition, fifth grade students perform at a middle school choir concert, district-wide "Band-O-Rama" and "String-Fest" concerts, and hold a spring instrumental concert at the school.
My students are active young music makers with a passion for learning, growing, and succeeding!
My Project
The Lakeview music room sees 400 eager learners each week that bring with them a variety of needs. Help our students learn successfully by supporting the purchase of a few flexible seating options for these students. Because of space constraints, much of the music time is spent seated on the floor or standing.
Flexible seating cushions will provide opportunities for students who struggle to be seated on the floor to be more successful learners.
It will also invite them to be a part of the group at large instead of having them move to a stool outside of the carpeted learning area, currently the only other seating option in the classroom. Eventually, I would love to be able to provide a variety of options for students, but this will be a great start!
