Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I School in a low income neighborhood. I have been teaching at my school throughout my whole education career, going into my 10th year. I would not change this for the world, I have become so attached not only to our students, but to our caring community, as well. Over 90% of our school is on free or reduced lunch and are ELL (English language learners) students. Even though parents come from low means, I appreciate the effort they put into doing what they can for their children's education. Another reason I love my school is that we have a great principal who truly cares about children, and she always does what she can to bring new experiences to our campus and allows for many opportunities for our kids to thrive.

My Project

As a math teacher, I have to provide creative ways to keep my students engaged and comfortable while learning. I also have to think of ways to make my classroom run smoother and more efficiently. With your help, I know I can provide such a place for my students.

This is why I would like to have more flexible seating around my classroom for my students to be able to work.

I have also included things like a classroom timer and dry erase boards that I need in order to help me manage my classroom more efficiently. Thank you for your support!
