My Students

My students are ethnically diverse, speak multiple languages, and love learning. Approximately one third of my students are from active duty military families. My class also includes several students with special needs.

My 5th grade students love learning as much as I love teaching!

While we are a Title I school with 66% receiving free or reduced lunch, our students strive to be great. We have achieved many successes in our classroom and school-wide because our staff, families, and students work together.

My Project

Not all students work best sitting on a chair at a desk, many like to sit on the floor with a clipboard or on pillows with a book in hand. My classroom has a variety of options for student seating, however, what is lacking is floor seating. The comfy floor seats offer an alternative to the typical classroom furniture.

Comfortable, relaxed students lead to more focused and productive students.

Flexible seating offers students an opportunity to learn in a manner that works best for them. I know that my students will clamor for the use of these comfy floor seats during reading time as well as writing time.
