Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting chair bands, floor seats, a large and comfy rug, and a standing desk so I can provide my students with flexible seating options. At the moment, the only flexible seating options for my fourth graders are standing at their own desks while they work and a small rug with lap desks for only two people. This is not ideal for my kids because it can be difficult to give all of them a flexible seating option at once.

It can be hard for a lot of kids to sit still at a desk for the entire school day!

These flexible seating options will allow for students who work better sitting on the floor, standing upright, sitting at a standard desk, or even fidgeting with a bouncy chair band without disruption! Students all have different needs and have different methods of helping them focus. Giving students access to different options will help them discover what works best for them and take that knowledge with them throughout their entire lives.
