My Students

My students are resilient learners with unique sensory and learning needs who benefit from clearly defined workspaces and visual supports. They come to school each day excited to greet their peers and work on their communication skills. My classroom supports amazing middle school students who overcome amazing obstacles.

My Project

Learning should be student-centered and student-driven. One way to ensure that a classroom supports student's needs is using flexible seating options so students can choose how they work. This is especially important for my students who have unique sensory needs. The use of these stools, lap desks and yoga balls for flexible seating will allow them to increase attention and time on task.

Flexible seating brings choice and increased self awareness to the classroom.

It empowers students to make choices that meet their needs. These are critical skills for success in the classroom today in in future work environments
