My Project

Help to provide flexible seating options to enhance student learning!

Presently, our classroom is using desks as our primary means of seating.

I have realized that my students are managing to be successful in spite of the desk and not because of them. There are also many other cons to desks that make them not ideal for 9-10-year-olds. It makes me happy to say that I have secured tables to outfit the whole classroom!

As an educator, I do not enjoy taking work home or working past contracted hours. However, I recognize that my best work happens then. Because when I feel comfortable, I am able to focus and be more productive. By giving students multiple choices and ownership in seating I hope to replicate these gains.

My hope is to transform the classroom into a space where students feel more comfortable and can truly make it their own. A homely environment students look forward to visiting every day which will in turn boost student focus and productivity. I would so greatly appreciate it if you can help me to realize this vision for my classroom!
