My Students

I teach at a public elementary school in Los Angeles, CA. Our school has a strong sense of community with involved, loving parents and compassionate students who care for one another. The class works extremely well with each other and are ecstatic when they get to work with a partner. My students also take every opportunity that allows them to help their classmates. These mature 3rd grades impress me every day with how thoughtful and caring they all are! I learn so much from them everyday.

My students are empathetic, confident, and enthusiastic readers!

They enjoy hands-on learning projects and a diverse teaching method that incorporates technology, but also love it when they get to sit down at the front and listen to me read their favorite books.

My Project

Flexible seating is proven to benefit children and their learning. It allows students to wobble, rock, lean, stand, or bounce. This all increases oxygen flow to the brain and empowers students with the choice of their environment.

With giving students the choice of flexible seating, students are empowered and more focused for longer periods of time.

Flexible seating stimulates students' sense of touch and helps students who are diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, or simply have difficulties paying attention. I know as a child I would have loved to be given the opportunity to choose where and how I would like to sit and I strongly believe my students would benefit from this in more ways than one.
