My Project
A seven hour school day can be a long time for busy 8 & 9-year-olds. Being confined to a desk for that entire period can lead to discomfort and inattentive learners. Flexible seating allows students the option to change the way in which they engage in class instruction and working times. The wobble stools not only accommodate movement while learning, but also allow me to quickly pull small groups around the back table while others use the pads to read or work independently on the floor or in their seats. I utilize a great deal of independent reading at their level, however, uncomfortable chairs or the hard floor often lead to students moving around in an effort to be comfortable, disrupting their focus on their reading materials. These alternate seating options will help them to stay comfortable and focused.
