My students are a mixed group of successful learners. As a school, we are at 40% free/reduced lunch. I have a high energy group that has a strong will to learn and a curiosity about how things work. My second graders come from various different backgrounds and have different levels of previous knowledge. They have different levels of motivation for reading and academics in general. My students are always eager to learn and are a great group.
My Project
By donating to this project, students will be able to move around more without distracting others. The supplies I am requesting are all quiet seating possibilities to allow students to wiggle without distracting others. Lately, research has been done to support the fact that students become higher achievers when given the ability to wiggle in their seats. Many articles state that wiggling helps students to focus.
In second grade, I would like to give my students a few flexible seating options.
I don't want my students to leave each day with stiff backs and hurting bottoms; therefore, I am requesting yoga balls, wiggle seats, cushions, and stools to allow students to continue doing their best work in a different seat.
