Flexible Seating for Collaboration, Creation, and Coding
My students need the Kore Wobble Chairs and the Surf Laptop Desks as alternate flexible seating choices to help them work more efficiently and comfortably within groups.
My students live in a small supportive community, however, their families are far from being affluent with over 50% qualifying for free and reduced lunch. Some are coming to school ready to fully engage, others have many real-life obstacles to overcome before they can be ready to focus on learning. My students deserve comfortable seating options which will help them focus. We still have a couple metal folding chairs to replace as well as 7 tilted desk/chair combinations which are not conducive to collaborative STEM hands-on projects. My eager learners are making the space work by pushing the hindering furniture to the side and working on the floor on a big tarp to more easily function as a team.
We need a few more flexible seating options that students can select as a safe and comfortable haven to help ease them from everyday stress and focus their energy on their learning.
My technology integration curriculum is evolving to include more collaborative and creative STEM Robotics and Coding. Our space needs to have work areas to accommodate quiet, critical thinking areas and yet also have flexibility for groups of various sizes for project work.
My Project
My students want to be engaged learners. The Kore Wobble seats will offer flexible and easy movement for table group work. Student groups assembling and coding robot kits on the floor will be thrilled to have the option of the Surf Laptop Desk to more safely use their laptop to record the group's process and progress while being more comfortable and feeling part of the team.
My Middle School students will vie for the Kore Wobble seat as a comfortable wiggle relief seat choice over metal folding chairs!
Being able to move with these Kore wobble chairs and Surf laptop desks instead of using metal folding chairs will also be quieter and less distracting.
As a teacher, I want to do my best to get the tools my students need in order to be their best. These flexible seating options will be a dramatic enhancement to our class seating options.
