This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Flexible seating will give my student a chance to engage in learning in comfort. Small group intervention is necessary to address the learning needs of my struggling readers. We meet daily to drill, think lots and lots of repetition, to address learning gaps. Intervention is daily and these tools will encourage collaboration and communication among my students. Flexible seating is an excellent way for students to get sensory needs met while developing their literacy skills. Movement increases blood flow and oxygen to the brain. The stools also allow us to easily change where we complete our tasks - in front of a white board, at a table, or joining other small groups. These stools, composition books, and pencils will make a difference!
