Flexible Seating for an Active Classroom

My students need flexible seating for their active bodies. By offering at least one Gaiam kids balance chair per table, my 4th graders will able to concentrate while getting the wiggles out every day.

My Students

It is a pleasure to come to school each day to view the smiles on my students' faces each morning. They come from a wide variety of cultures and neighborhoods and bring many strengths with them. They enjoy hands-on learning and can't wait for new challenges and learning opportunities.

My students are an energetic group of learners.

They need a variety of educational tools to keep them engaged and focused on the standards we are learning. Active learning is included in many aspects of our daily routine.

My Project

Flexible seating is a new adventure for the students in our classroom. The students are more focused and attentive when given a Gaiam Balance Ball Chair. Currently, the classroom has one balance chair to share amongst all the students. Everyday is a juggling act, trying to meet the needs of so many students on one apparatus. I have noticed how well the students are doing after being offered the option of a variety of places to sit and learn. The exercise ball chairs will help keep those students who need extra movement while working occupied and also help improve their studies.

Please make our dreams come true with six additional balance chairs for our upper grade classroom.

We need them to help us focus while working on challenging math and writing assignments every day. The students love the challenge of difficult work, but not all can sustain extended periods of concentration on their own. These balance chairs would assist a wide variety of learners and could be easily shared throughout the day. They will be useful for years to come!
