My Project

Our class has slowly been increasing our flexible seating over the years. With growing classes, guest students, or schedule changes, we are often left with students sitting on the floor or at our group table rather than at an individual table when they are with us for the day. We also cycle for literacy and math by instructional level, which makes some learning groups larger than my homeroom is currently setup for.

My students love that they have the choice of chair and wide desktop to spread out when working or interacting with others.

Having a larger learning space that they need to maintain gives them a sense of ownership and has assisted in keeping behaviors to a minimum since students can stretch out more.
