My Students

We live in a small town and our school houses about 250 amazing students. My classroom of 15 bright students is one of the kindest groups I have ever taught. I love and each every member of our class family; their energy, kindness, and attitude towards learning make every day, an awesome day.

We are a high need school with 100% of our student population receiving free breakfast, lunch, and snack.

A majority of my students live in poverty and school is their safe environment. Through grants, my classroom has been funded to be a "kids fit" room where my desks and furniture are bicycles. I have students whose lives have already been changed from the ability to move throughout the day. In our K-4 school, our classroom is the only one who gets this amazing opportunity. My students work so hard through the day and showing a small amount of appreciation will impact their futures greatly.

My Project

My students would benefit greatly from having the opportunity to have flexible seating options in my classroom. My students love to sit on the floor during work time, but they are unable to do so without clipboards or seating options. These portable writing tables and clipboards would be a huge addition to our fourth grade classroom community.

My students need access to different types of seating to help them enhance their learning.

These tables and clipboards will be used daily by my students as they work to become better writers throughout the school year. The seating bands will allow my students to move their feet and fidget as they are learning at their desks. All of these seating options would greatly benefit my group of active and energetic fourth grade students.
