My students are hardworking, curious nine and ten year old fourth graders. They are Washingtonians who spend 5 to 6 days a week, yes some Saturdays too, working to achieve academic success at a Title I school in a large urban community. You can find us in our classroom learning math and science from 8:45 a.m. until 5:45 p.m. My students are two classes of around 20 students, whose needs range from English Language Learning, Autism, ADHD, and other special learning needs. My students are the future, and they are full of energy and curiosity.
My Project
In my classroom I have high expectations for my students. Each day I see them rise to meet and exceed my expectations. I would love to create more flexible seating options for them.
When students can sit on bean bags while they are learning their bodies are able to relax and be comfortable, and their minds are able to open up.
Students can look forward to their turn on the bean bag and see the classroom as a fun place to be. These bean bags, and replacement beans will allow me to create and maintain a relaxing learning station for my students to study math and science.
