My Students

The second grade students that I work with are so eager to learn. "What do we get to do today?" is the question I am greeted with each morning. They are so excited to learn and love the attention they receive in small groups.

I work in a very large urban area and most of my students come from immigrant families with limited understanding of the English language.

Although they face many challenges in school and at home, their desire to learn is inspiring. For some of my students the extra support they receive from me is all the support that they will get. Working in small groups helps my students to understand and master the skills that they need to become successful learners.

My Project

During the pandemic, students have had to learn how to learn on their own. Especially at the youngest levels, students need all-around access to their teachers so that they can ask all the questions, show off their work, correct their mistakes, and so much more. We could not do this during virtual learning and now that we are back in class students are so eager to spend time with their teacher one-on-one.

Students need to have constant access to their teacher while they are in school so that they can feel supported and confident in their learning.

Help my students to be able to be close to me for supportive instruction with this rolling chair. Students must maintain social distance and with this chair they are able to be close enough to me while staying protected. We need to support our students and provide a semblance of closeness to them that they have lacked for so long.
