My Project

...the teachers are nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of flexible seating danced in their heads. This sounds like the story that flashes in my head when thinking of adjustments and new set-ups for my classroom. I am working to create a magical learning environment that inspires and welcomes all students. Part of evolving my classroom involves the design of the room - particularly, flexible seating.

A classroom with flexible seating includes a variety of seating options that students can choose to use while they work and learn!

One of the foundations of flexible seating initiative comes down to student choice. Teaching and guiding students to make their own choices, choices they can be proud of, is one of the most valuable lessons we can give them. Therefore, it makes sense that flexible seating - a classroom that allows for and promotes choice when it comes to seating options for learning, REALLY WORKS to engage students, minimize behavior issues, increase attentiveness, and boost learning independence.

My goal is to create a classroom that is calming, child-friendly, and inviting!
