My Students

My students are resilient as they are recovering from the recent devastating Hurricane Florence. They are very creative, and they are very active students. They love to learn through hands-on activities! We do many group activities and the students would love to use flexible seating to better enjoy their group activities. Flexible seating will give the students a fun, cozy alternative seating to use during our classroom station rotations. As of now, the students are sitting on the cold, tile floor to complete their group activities. We are a Title I school; twenty percent of our students experienced a total loss during Hurricane Florence.

My Project

Flexible seating, feeling the movement! These flexible seating items will help the students be able to have flexible movements during our station rotations and classroom group hands-on activities. The students work in groups often and most of the time, the students sit at their tables or on the cold, tile floor. These flexible seating items will give the students a fun, cozy alternative to our regular classroom seating arrangements. My students are very active and these flexible seating items will help the students be able to be active during our classroom instruction without being a distraction to others. My students will have the ability to have free movement while learning, which will increase attention span for some of the students who have difficulty focusing. My students who have experienced great losses will feel a sense of restoration with these flexible seating items. The flex-space comfy floor seats, balance ball seats, and wobble cushions would help the students be more comfortable and increase focus during our group station activities.
