I teach in a city I grew up in and enjoy giving back to. My students love to learn, but struggle with reading. Many students are from low-income families, but that doesn't stop their zest for knowledge. I want to instill in my students a passion for reading and a love for learning. Even though many of my students come to school carrying large burdens, they are all so caring and sweet. If you could help my students succeed we would be so grateful!
My Project
My students love to get cozy reading around our room. I would love to give them some options to help keep them engaged and grow their love of reading. Flexible seating will allow for more creativity and cooperative learning.
The comfy floor seats and stools will allow my students to have the freedom of choice.
I carefully chose these options so they will not be a distraction. The organizational materials will help me get materials to groups quickly, this way students can get started right away. All of these materials will enhance our learning environment. Hopefully, it will help students grow to love coming to language arts.
