This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am so excited for my incoming new students this school year. I am aware that the majority of my incoming students have needs that will cause them to greatly benefit from flexible seating options and social emotional tools including: posters and fidgets. I will have a diverse group of students and they deserve to receive an equitable education-- meaning that all students have different needs, so the school supplied chairs do not suit the needs of many students with a variety of emotional and learning needs and differences. This is especially important for my SPED student (special education student).

I want to help students feel calm, supported, cared for and remind them how fun learning can be!

The last 3 items are to help organize their work: binder subject dividers, a 3 hole punch, and a paper organizer for them to turn their work in.

School should be a place that students are excited to be, and the flexible seating will help them *greatly* to focus on their work, while still quietly moving, rather than needing to sit still.
