Let me start out by saying my students are amazing. My name is Kelly Bracey and I have been a teacher for 11 years, prior to that I was a paraeducator while I earned my bachelor degree. I am so blessed to teach 4th and 5th-grade students reading and writing. Our school is a low-income Title I school. All of our students are on free lunch and breakfast. That doesn't stop them from wanting to learn all they can.
Our students are always trying to there very best.
They get so excited to learn new things and use what they are learning. They enjoy projects, tasks, and competition for reading goals. An example is trying to get 100% on as many AR tests as they can. They are just such a great group of children. I have never worked at another school, this school with our great children is a piece of Heaven on Earth. I am truly blessed to teach not only these children but the brothers and sisters of these children. I have the perfect job.
Flexible seating is a great way for students to be comfortable while learning. The standard desk and chair are not what they once were in a classroom. Students like choices, sitting on the floor, working collaboratively with a group of peers, standing, or keeping your balance on a yoga ball or Wobble chair. I am requesting a set of 6 Wobble Chairs that students will be able to use. Wobble stools have many benefits, they allow movement while sitting, improve posture, and helps students concentrate.
Alternative seating is great for all learning styles, plus it is just plain enjoyable.
Many studies have been conducted that show students that use alternative seating learn and retain information better than the standard desk and chair. Thank you so very much for considering my project.
