My Students

I am a teacher from a Title I school in Indiana. My students come from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, but share a common hunger for knowledge and learning. As their teacher, I want to provide the best opportunities for ALL my students to learn and excel in their classroom.

My students are determined, fun-loving, passionate, and most of all loving, generous, and kind.

Their dedication to one another and to their education is inspiring to me as their teacher. I love to see their enthusiasm for learning each day as they take on rigorous tasks academically and socially!

My Project

This project includes a wide variety of tools for our classroom. All materials have the goal of fostering a positive, uplifting classroom community. Flexible seating is an important part of our classroom culture. In order to make flexible seating most successful, students will use clipboards while moving around the room.

Yoga balls and wobble stools will allow for movement while learning, for students who thrive when able to get their wiggles out.

Whiteboards allow for individual, quick responses. Our recess equipment promotes teamwork and cooperative play, a crucial part of our social-emotional development.

Our project also includes pieces of technology that will allow students to show their learning in ways I have only dreamed of before. Students will become directors as we create short films about our learning. Lastly, the literature included in this project will be a beautiful part of our ever expanding library.
