This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Children learn in a variety of ways, but one thing that is common among most learners is the need for flexibility. With flexible seating, students will be given the freedom to step away from their desks and work in a space that may be most comfortable for them and their learning experience. As they continue to tackle second grade, my students are working hard on improving reading skills, but their stamina and focus is sometimes affected by their need to move around and get comfortable. By introducing these mats and portable desks, I am hoping to help my students remain focused and engaged in their learning.

Additionally, giving the students freedom of choice makes them feel empowered in the classroom environment.

As we know in most life situations, comfort is key! With that in mind, I would like to make our classroom a comfortable learning space for all
