My classroom is full of active, eager learners! It is my job to make sure they have a safe place to work, learn, and grow in. They come in each day ready to have fun and learn. They care about each other and our classroom family. I want to make my classroom environment a welcoming and engaging spot for children to learn.
Many of my students come from single parent, low socioeconomic households.
Some are being raised by grandparents or other family members. We are a Title 1 school with over 50% of our students qualifying for free or reduced lunch. Our non-English speaking population grows every year. We are a very diverse community in a small college town.
My Project
Young students love to make their own choices, and by being able to choose where they work they will likely be more engaged in their activity. The more engaged students are, the more they learn!
When you choose to donate to this project you are enabling my students to grow as they learn to work with others and individually.
They will use these portable lap desks as they join small groups when participating in independent word work and writing centers. These desks will also give those students who prefer to work alone the option to remove themselves from a group, and still have a comfortable place to learn.
I am just embarking on this flexible seating journey, and I would love to have these stools to introduce this choice to my students this coming school year!
