This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
First graders are inquisitive and full of energy! Meeting all my students' needs and working in varying sized groups throughout the day is challenging. They love to move. We need to get creative so we are not sitting too much! First graders love to learn and move! Flexible seating can make that happen.
Flexible seating seems like the perfect option for our movers and shakers in first grade!
Having a degree of choice and control over environment empowers children. My first graders love to wiggle all day! Flexible seating allows students to choose where they work and with whom. It also allows them to change their location and positions as needed.
My Project
This flexible seating furniture will help give my young students a chance to move around more freely in our room. It will allow students to make their own choices about where they want to sit.
It is so hard for young children to sit a long time.
Flexible seating helps children feel empowered by choosing their own seats. Flexible seating allows for movement while working!
Moving while working should increase time on task and help children stay out of trouble for going wild in the room. Flexible seating is a win-win for all involved. We can't wait to try it! Please help our classroom this year! Thank you in advance!
